THE PROCESS

Pipeline

STEP 01 / 04 Hands throwing clay on a pottery wheel to form a ceramic vessel, recycled clay with custom inclusions

THROWING

Recycled clay with custom inclusions. Centering on the wheel. The form emerges from rotation and pressure.

STEP 02 / 04 Artisan hands forming and shaping wet clay on a pottery wheel, no trimming, hand-finished ceramic vessel

FORMING

No trimming. Every piece is hand-finished using intuition and experience. The shape emerges through feel.

STEP 03 / 04 Small bowls of colorful ceramic glazes in blues, greens, and purples being mixed and layered

GLAZING

Mixing and layering studio glazes into unexpected combinations. Every surface is an experiment.

STEP 04 / 04 Gas kiln firing ceramic vessels to cone 10 in reduction atmosphere, warm iron and red copper glaze results

FIRING

Bisque at ~1,800°F. Glaze fire to cone 10 (~2,350°F) in reduction. Iron goes warm, copper blushes red.
